Highway Department

The Highway Department works year-round to keep our town moving safely and smoothly. Plowing snow, repairing roads, maintaining signage, and clearing storm debris–our crew is out in all kinds of weather making sure our roads are safe and reliable. Oakland Collection Center – Waste Management

As of April 1st, 2025, the Oakland Collection Center (O.C.C.) charges $1 per kitchen garbage bag.  There will be NO cash exchanged at the dump.  Dump cards must be purchased through the Town of Swiss Clerk.  Personal checks will be accepted for disposal of large items only. The Oakland Collection Center (O.C.C.) is open to all residential property owners of Oakland, Swiss, and Union Townships for disposal of residential garbage and recycling. Admission is with the O.C.C. card purchased through the Town of Swiss… Continue Reading
